Our Mission: We Build Life-Changing Infrastructure

At the heart of everything we do is a simple but powerful purpose — to build infrastructure that transforms communities and elevates lives. Join a company that doesn’t just construct projects — we build legacies.

Why This Role Matters

As our next Project Cost Accountant, you won’t be just crunching numbers — you’ll be a key partner in ensuring the financial success of high-impact construction projects across the region. From forecasting and reporting to billing and compliance, you’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, senior leadership, and field teams to bring financial clarity, drive performance, and support decision-making that keeps our projects — and our communities — moving forward.

Who We Are

We live and lead by our core values — known as A.C.T.:

  • Accountability – Safety first. Own your role. Deliver results.

  • Character – Be respectful, honest, and committed. Stay humble.

  • Team – Lead by serving. Grow together. Chase excellence.

What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Financial Visibility

  • Keep project budgets aligned with change orders and cost updates.

  • Reconcile labor, equipment, and indirect costs across key systems like HCSS HeavyJob and Spectrum.

  • Lead weekly and monthly earned revenue forecasts that guide leadership decision-making.

Billing & Receivables

  • Prepare and manage monthly billing cycles, forecasts, and variance reports.

  • Ensure timely approvals and entries, and follow up on outstanding receivables.

  • Monitor job cash flow and maintain strong AR processes.

Project Financials & Analysis

  • Own all accounting aspects for your assigned projects — from POs to purchasing cards to subcontract compliance.

  • Prepare monthly project financial packages and participate in review meetings with leadership.

  • Provide sharp variance analysis and forecasting insights.

Cost Code & Job Set-Up

  • Set the foundation right: Maintain cost code integrity and budget accuracy from day one.

  • Adjust codes post-start as needed to keep financial reporting clean and consistent.

Close-Outs & Incentives

  • Finalize projects with precision — reconcile costs, confirm warranties, and calculate performance-based payouts.

  • Ensure every close-out is clean and well-documented.

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Help train PMs and project coordinators on cost systems and processes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve our accounting workflows — your ideas will be heard and valued.
